An early19th century two section Anglo-Indian full teak campaign chest.

Originally owned by Dr Archibald Arnott

Who was a British army surgeon, who was best remembered as Napoleon's doctor on St Helena who was present at the emperors autopsy

Stationed in Bombay in 1812 Arnott served with the Duke of Wellington in his campaigns until the end of the war.

Arnott is famed for taking a mask of Napoleon at the time of his death using surgical wax due to there being no plaster available on the island. This original mask is now in the musee massena museum in Nice, France. Inscribed with Arnott signature.

Inscribed with A Arnott to the top of the base of the campaign drawers.

A significant piece of historic furniture. In unrestored but perfectly useful and beautiful.
