An exceptionally rare Italian Sienna marble finger bowl.
Built into the wall of a church at the entrance to allow worshippers to clean Thier fingers prior to prayer.
Rarely are these on the market.
This one has considerable wear to the interior of the bowl due to centuries of water inside. Showcasing the age due to the time it would take for water to erode the hard surface of Sienna marble. Through use in an ecclesiastical environment.
Hand carved from the finest coloured Sienna marble. Still showing it's bright yellows and orange veins.
